ntroduction to creating your own wallpaper designs within an interior design context.
- How to bring a design together with shape and form, colour and pattern
- Introduction to selecting co-ordinating colours and design elements
- Bringing all of the elements of room design together with your own personalised wallpaper design.
What topics will we cover?
- How to create your own design for a wallpaper
- Looking at wallpaper designs from designers such as William Morris to current contemporary designs
- What inspires you
- Shape, form, size and proportion, scale, colour
- Incorporating these elements within an interior design scheme.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Experiment with your own wallpaper designs and appreciate which designs work well
- Appreciate the different elements which bring an interior design scheme together
- Feel more confident about making decisions on colour, shape and form within spaces.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
For anyone with an interest in Interiors and creating wallpaper designs. You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, hand-outs and health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussions.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Lectures, practical work and group discussions. Voluntary research of other designs.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Lifestyle and Interior magazines.
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
No.
What feedback will I get?
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
